Snacking on junk has always been a desirable thing! But as you grow up, your first visit for a health check wakes you up to the needs of your body. The search for the right vitamins and minerals and the food that make up for it suddenly shoots up. At such times you dread the Noodles and Pasta and those delicious Chinese sauces; the hardest part of being on a healthy diet! How about being creative with food? How about fusion and experiments of different cuisines? Here’s a healthy option to try. HAKKA NOODLES and lots of veggies!

You need: Oil 8 tspn, 5 Spring Onions & Spring Onion leaves (Finely chopped), French beans 12 no.(Diamond cut), 2 Carrots (Thin strips), 1 cup Cabbage & 1/2 cup Capsicum (Finely sliced), Nilon’s Hakka noodles 1 pack, Nilon’s Soya Sauce 2 tspn, Nilons Vinegar 3 tspn.

How to cook: Boil 10 cups of water. Drop the Noodles and let it cook for 2 mins till semi-cooked (slightly ‘kachha’). Drain the noodles & spread them on a flat surface. Sprinkle 4 tsp of oil to prevent sticking. Heat 8 tsp oil in a big frying pan, add chopped spring onions & stir-fry till transparent. Add all veggies & salt to taste and cook till the vegetables turn soft. Add the cooked Noodles, Soya sauce, Vinegar, Mix well and simmer for 3 minutes. Garnish with spring onions and serve hot.

And now for experiments:

1. Replace the veggies with paneer and then soya chunks — For a dose of Calcium and Protein

2. Try the noodles with a white sauce recipe — Fusion of Pasta and Noodles — minus the acidity due to sauces

3. Only boil the veggies with rock salt and place next to plain noodles on a hot plate, with lots of sizzzzzz …. making a home-sizzler! — A sort of fasting Recipe

4. And here’s a Sunday break to a healthy diet — Stuff the cooked up noodles + veggies into a samosa  and deep-fry it!

We’ll keep our experiments on……… Stay tuned to check for more.
